So here I am almost 6 months later and boy what a ride it has been. Shortly after my last post our medical changed over from medicaid to a HMO and they refused to pay for my medication and the Dr. was forced to prescribe other medications.
The first made me so sick I couldn't even get out of bed other then going to the bathroom, and the pain was worse instead of better so we stopped that and started another medication which took away some of the pain but made me really mean. I had finally had enough when one day I had lost it so bad that I almost hit my daughter, and I don't mean just a spanking, I was ready to really hurt her.
Thankfully I was able to stop myself and took her in my arms and said I was stopping my medicine and calling the Dr. After a call to my Dr. the nurse called back and said they would try again to get the insurance company to approve my medication with the new results from the other medications but there might be a chance they would deny it and all I would be left with would be pain management.
So the wait began and a few weeks ago my insurance company called me and said that my medication was approved for a year, which really made me happy, so happy in fact I was crying with relief. Finally I could take the medicine again that was working, but then the thought came what happens in a year? Not sure but we are taking it one step at a time.
I started my medication on the 18th and I started at 395.8 up again without the medication and less movement because of the pain. I am happy to report that I am now down to 390 and hoping to see the numbers on the scale to continue to get smaller.
Keep me in your prayers that the insurance company will keep paying for my medication and that I keep losing weight. I need this for my health and so that I can be here for my family for years to come.
I hope to be able to report back here soon with more great news.

Happy with the lower numbers.
I am so happy to report that as of this morning I weighed in at 374.4 down almost 10 pounds from my last post. This is just with taking my medication and being able to do some of the housework around the house. My back pain finally subsided which was just a big knot of tissue in my back that needed a little help releasing.
This morning was the first day that I really got some housework done besides doing dishes, or folding laundry. The upstairs is pretty clean but the downstairs needs some tender loving care. Will get to that in the next couple of days while preparing for Thanksgiving. Again thank you all for the support you continue to give me.

Ups and Downs
Hello everyone just a update since it has been so long. My lowest weight so far has been 360. It was all going well until August hit and we found out our insurance had been cut off. Some of you may know my husband fell back in February at his job and ended up with a total quad tear which needed an operation right away, and left us living on Workman's comp. Well in August they laid workers off so our insurance ended leaving me and my husband without a way to get our medication, without letting other bills like rent get behind.
We chose to go without our medication. We applied for medicaid but it took until October 1st for it to kick in, and November 1st for our new insurance to start up, which left me without medication, and therefore all of the pain came back as well as all of the other side effects of Fibromyalgia. With that the exercise stopped and the pounds started to come back topping the scales at 394, yet the biggest I have ever been.
Last week was the first time since I had started my medication back up that I saw the scale move which was down 9lbs. So currently I am at 385. Yes a bigger number and new starting point, but the scale is going back down which is what we want.
There needs to be a way for people to be able to get their medication so that when their insurance is canceled they do not have to be put in a situation like our family was. Luckily no one got ill or hurt during the time we did not have insurance, but what about those out there that have no insurance and have cancer, diabetes, or other life threatening illnesses. They need to be able to get their medications, see the Dr. and not have to worry about if they are going to pay their rent or get their medications each month.
It is just sad that people have to make those choices. I am thankful we were able to get assistance and we are back on the mend. Keep our family and all of those out there who have illness in your prayers that they are able to get the medical care they need to be stronger, healthier, and happier. Everyone deserves to live a long and happy life.

A challenge met.
So here I am battling weight loss on top of finding out I have Fibromyalgia and yesterday my daughter had a hike with her Daisy Troop. Originally I was going to send my daughter, didn't know if I would be up to it, but I decided to go not having any idea how long the hike would be.
Sure I was behind while everyone one was ahead. Even a mother and daughter who came late bypassed me. I had to stop along the way, and even almost gave up at one point,
all I could think was that I was going to let my daughter down, but I swallowed my tears, telling myself just one step at a time. Guess what? This 360 pound mama made it the whole way and I am so proud of myself. I broke a sweat, and I felt energized after it was all over. Yeah Me.
Taking a hike was one of my goals and even though it was hard work I managed to achieve it.

Health update
I was getting ready for bed and thought I would check in. I went to my Dr.'s appointment yesterday and he was very excited to see the numbers on the scale going down for the second month in a row. We decided to keep the Fibromyalgia medicine where it is, because I am doing so well with it and seeing how I do over the next 3 months. I am still getting tired, but that is what the other tests that he wants to do should answer. I did tell him about the few days I had pain that was not due to the arthritis in my back and that I had done a lot that day, and he told me to take things slow he doesn't want me getting hurt trying to do too much at one time.
He said I have been in pain so long, and now that I am feeling better, there is a big chance that if I overdo things that I could hurt myself. So I will take my days one by one and go from there. I love the Dr. we have for our family and that he helped me figure out what was wrong with my body. It took some time between insurance changes, and our busy lives, but now I am feeling better, and have been able to do things I couldn't do for so long that I just want to get it all done.
Ok I better get some sleep or I won't be able to get anything done tomorrow. Off I go to slumber land hoping you all have a good night too.

Me and my tread mill.
I thought I would get a few pictures of myself on the tread mill so that I could see the difference as I lose weight of how I look on my tread mill. Anything to keep me motivated.
I have to say I really like my tread mill and where it is located I am able to see the TV so if I am watching a movie on Netflix I can watch and walk at the same time. Most of the time I actually end up walking longer because I am not thinking about it.
It also has a Ipod/ MP3 hook up but I don't own one, everyone else in the family has one but me.
Maybe that will go on my list for something to get during my weight loss journey.
You can see the new sneakers that my husband bought me while I stride along.
Below I have a smile on my face as my daughter takes my picture, really excited to see the changes to my body during my journey.
Thank you for stopping by and make sure you follow me so that you can encourage, and give me pointers along the way.

Weigh In.
I wanted to check in and tell you how I was doing. I am down to 366 as of this morning. I hadn't weighed myself in a while due to taking care of my husband, and then getting sick myself. Don't worry though it was just a cold, although during it I didn't get on the tread mill I am now back on the saddle.
After seeing the Dr. at the beginning of the month I now know I have Fibromyalgia. I am currently taking medicine for it although I hate the thought of having to take medicine for the rest of my life. Good news though my Vitamin D count finally went up. Not enough to take me off of the supplements, but enough to know that my body is finally absorbing it. I also found out that I am not anemic for the first time in my life. That is amazing news in of itself.
I have a very good outlook on my life for the next year. With the medicine I am able to do things I haven't been able to do for years. I still get tired easily but how much I have been able to get done around our home out weighs the tiredness by a landslide. I hope to return soon with more good news and a lower number on the scale. Until then take one moment at a time, and stay healthy.
