Sorry it has been a while been super busy here. I wanted to say first our home scale only goes to 400 lbs so my husband has not been able to weigh himself unless hew as at the Dr.'s that is until today. He weighed in today at 398.1. Give up the whoop whoops for him.
My daughter Dennise's last weigh in was 297, and mine was 378.6 as of this morning. The Dr. said it would be hard for me to lose weight because one I am a girl, my age, and because my kidney's just can not get rid of the toxins as fast as healthy kidney's which slows down the weight loss greatly.
So time to eliminate diet soda from my diet which will be really hard, but something that just needs to be done. After reading what it does to my kidney's on top of the damage I have had since I was a child, it has to go. I know when we have pizza I will want it really bad, but will try to do something else that is fizzy in our Soda Stream with healthier ingredients to appease my fizzy addiction.

My daughter has joined the weight loss fight
I am happy to officially announce that my daughter Dennise has joined in on the weight loss fight with my husband and I. She is starting off at 302.4. I am hoping next week to take new pictures of us and maybe even put up measurements if everyone is willing.
It is so much easier to do this together, we all keep each on target. Here is to more weight loss here in Marksville and healthier lives for all.

Losing weight here in Marksville
I didn't think I would be back this soon but here I am. My husband had to take my daughter to the Dr. today for her headaches so he stepped on the scale. If you remember he started out at 423 and today he is 416 so the water and diet is working. As for me I was at 379.8 the other day but with it being during that time of the month I can bloat up to 30 pounds so I won't be able to tell my real weight until a few days after.
I am really proud of all of us. Even my daughter lost 16 lbs since the last time she was weighed at the Dr.'s, she is super happy as well. If she is comfortable I will add her weight loss to ours as well. She did inform me though that our scale weighs us at a pound more then the Dr.'s.

My husband has joined the weight loss fight
It is not secret my husband and myself have been on the bigger side for much of our lives. Years ago my husband did the Atkins diet and lost over 150 lbs, but after stopping the diet the weight rebounded quickly.
Some of you who have read my other blogs know that my husband had a injury at his job last February which caused a total quad tear in his left leg. After surgery and 3 months of being locked out in a brace, not being able to move very much, unto crutches with the brace for months, then learning to walk again once the brace was able to be moved to more positions, losing the brace, now using a cane, weight had it's toll.
I remember the first time he stepped on a scale after losing the brace, it was a scary number to say the least. Time has gone by and last week I noticed when my husband itched his leg there were indentations. I asked him how long it has been like this. He tell me months. I knew at once it was edema and my daughter confirmed it when we showed it to her.
I had to take my grand daughter to the Dr.'s and while there brought up my husband's leg swelling and he wanted him to be seen before the end of the week. He had an appointment with is leg Dr. who also wanted him to follow up with his Dr., so I talked him into making an appointment but before the appointment he had problems breathing on that really hot day that week and also had an increase in wanting to sleep so we went to the hospital.
The ER was full but from the moment he walked through the doors they were attentive to getting tests done right away. EKG, blood tests, X-ray, Ultrasound, and finally a Cat-Scan. The only time we really had to wait was the last hour for the radiologist to read the results.
Thankfully everything came back clean except for him having the edema in the legs, so they ordered him Lasix and told him to follow up with the Dr. Friday we went to his appointment. They confirmed edema, ordered him more Lasix as the ER only gave him a 5 day supply. They said how very lucky he is to have had this for months with no damage to anywhere else in his system and to keep it that way he needs to lose weight.
Mind you he has an appointment with the Spine Dr. because he has had pain in his back since the injury at work and at this time they have pretty much ruled out that it is from him learning how to walk again so they are pursuing a better answer for his pain. Walking is quite painful for him and since that is the best way to lose weight he has been held back by the pain.
He is now on a 1500 calorie diet as well as taking Lasix, and drinking what us girls call spa water. His starting weight was 423 and has an appointment back with the Dr. early July. Until he reaches under 400 lbs our home scale will not be able to record his weight loss so be patient for an update on the numbers.
We are both hoping by doing this together we will have results that make us both healthier. Wish us luck!

Surprise the scale is a little lower.
First of all I have to say I am very happy with the results of taking my medicine and the weight coming off and hope to keep seeing the numbers get smaller but didn't think I would be back so soon for an update. As of this morning I am at 380.8.
I keep telling myself every ounce I take off is that much better for my body, and moving will be easier as well. I thank all of my followers for their support and hope that others will never give up the fight to lose weight. Everyone has to find something that works for them, and for me at least so far it was taking medication for my Fibroymyalgia.
I will ride this weight loss as for as it will go and hope that my energy to move will increase as the pounds come off.

Lower number on the scale
I am so excited to report that I am down to 382.1 as of this morning. I had a lot of stress this week but made it through with the scale being lighter, which doesn't happen often. I love to rely on chocolate when I am down. Would love to be back down to 360 like last year and continue to see lower numbers over the next year.
With my currant knee injury I see even a greater need to lose weight. I was able to get outside and start the ground for the garden. Our rake was cracked and while working on the compost pile it snapped off the rest of the way, so we need to find a new one. Hoping to get to breaking up the soil tomorrow and maybe even planting if all goes well.
Until the next check in wish me luck! Good luck to all who are reading that are also trying to lose weight.
